What Local Drivers Say

The Problem

What This Service Solves

Rock chips on the leading edges

Bumpers, hoods, and mirror caps take the majority of highway debris. Chips there are the first thing that dates an otherwise clean vehicle.

Scratches in high-touch areas

Door cups, handle recesses, and rocker panels collect fingernail scratches and road spray marks that polishing cannot always remove.

Damage you cannot polish out

Once a chip reaches primer or metal, correction is no longer the answer. Film exists to stop that from happening in the first place.

PPF versus ceramic coating

Film and coating solve different problems. Paint protection film is a physical urethane layer that absorbs impact energy from stones and debris. A ceramic coating is a thin chemical layer that changes how the surface behaves — more gloss, tighter water behaviour, easier washing.

A coating will not stop a rock chip, and film alone does not make a vehicle easier to clean. Many Kent Island vehicles end up with film on the front-facing panels and a coating across the rest of the paint.

Vehicle preparation before installation

Film bonds to the surface it is applied over. Anything left behind — bonded contamination, wax, tar, or wash marring — is locked in underneath.

Preparation includes a decontamination wash, chemical and mechanical decontamination, panel inspection, and, where appropriate, a light polish so the finish under the film is the best version of itself.

Living with film

Allow the film to cure before washing. After that, use a pH-neutral soap, wash by hand or touchlessly, and avoid aiming a pressure washer directly at film edges.

Avoid harsh solvents and abrasive polishes on film surfaces. We provide care guidance specific to what was installed on your vehicle.
